Bachelor in Paradise: How producers made sure stars didn’t leak spoilers

How Bachelor in Paradise producers ‘went to drastic lengths to prevent spoilers from leaking – and even withheld PAYING the stars until they’d fulfilled their obligations

The producers of Bachelor in Paradise reportedly went to extreme measures to make sure the cast didn’t leak spoilers ahead of Sunday’s season finale.

According to New Idea on Monday, the contestants were told they wouldn’t be paid their full appearance fee unless they fulfilled all their contractual obligations.

This gave them a financial incentive to keep their mouths shut on social media and avoid doing unsanctioned press interviews.

A source claimed: ‘All the contestants went rogue really early on and were giving hints left, right and centre on social media about who they ended up with – even going as far as hanging out with them in public.

‘It was a headache for production and it was months before airing, so they had no choice but to call in the lawyers.’

All reality TV contracts include clauses stating that participants can’t spoil the outcome or spill production secrets – but these rules are widely ignored and there are rarely consequences for rebellious contestants.

So it’s hardly surprising that Channel 10 and Warner Bros. reportedly threatened to withhold payment to make sure they kept in line.

Channel 10 has contacted Channel 10 for comment.
