Man dies from multiple stab wounds after mass knife brawl on Sheffield street that left three others injured

A man has been stabbed to death and three others were injured in a mass knife brawl in the early hours of the morning.

The victim was rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds to his upper body, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.  

Emergency services rushed to a suburb of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, shortly after midnight following reports of violence.

The violence occurred after a ‘large scale disturbance’ broke out on the residential street.

Three other men sustained ‘non life threatening’ injuries and are currently receiving treatment.

The names and ages of the victims are not yet known. 

South Yorkshire Police said there will be an increased police presence in the area for the rest of the weekend.

They are carrying out enquiries this morning and an investigation has been launched. 

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: ‘Just after midnight today police were called to reports of a stabbing on Horninglow Road in the Firth Park area of Sheffield.

‘A man was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his upper body but was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.

‘Three other men whose ages are not known sustained none life threatening injuries arising from the same incident and are receiving treatment.

‘Detectives are carrying out enquiries and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.’
