Mariah Carey denies her son’s request to greet a fan on TikTok: ‘Tell her I’m on a business call’

While Mariah Carey could not be seen in her nine-year-old son Moroccan Cannon’s latest TikTok video, the hilarious audio between the pair featured her signature sass. 

After one of his viewers asked for an appearance from his famous mother, the preteen eagerly leapt off his chair to find her and oblige his follower’s request.

‘Of course I can do that!’ said Moroccan, who the five-time Grammy winner shares with her ex-husband Nick Cannon, before attempting to enlist the singer to join him.

To her little one’s disappointment, Carey dismissed the idea and told him to just say she was ‘on a business call.’

‘Well, my mom is not ready to look, um, be shot at, on TikTok, but yeah,’ Moroccan tells his followers, before echoing her fib, that ‘she’s on a business call.’ 

In another video, he shut down one of his followers, who advised others stop asking him personal questions, before his parents revoked his social media privileges.

'First of all, I don’t know who you are, you don’t need to worry about me. And second of all, my mom wouldn’t do that,' he said

Since these videos, his account has become private and he’s most likely receiving closer supervision of his online presence.

Last month, his father, 39, was let go from Viacom/CBS, where he had a long-running contract, due to anti-semitic remarks he both supported and made on a recent podcast. 

The Wild N’ Out creator and host tweeted his regrets for the comments, extending ‘deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers.’

As for Mariah, she’s looking ahead to the impending publication of her tell-all memoir, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey, to hit bookshelves on September 29.

The Emotions hitmaker announced the publication date on her Instagram last month, with a caption fittingly accented with butterfly emojis.

And the day before that, the performer shared the back cover of the upcoming autobiography, which features a heartfelt personal note.

The book is well-timed, as it comes in a year marked by much Mariah-mania – in addition to social media campaigns like #justiceforglitter and #justiceforEMC2 helping her previous albums hit no. 1 on the iTunes chart, this year marks the 30 yeah anniversary of the artist’s groundbreaking self-titled debut album.
