Big brother’s Josh Martinez axed from All Stars because of alleged false positive coronavirus test

Big Brother’s Josh Martinez will not be on this season of All Stars because of an alleged false positive coronavirus test: ‘To be clear my health is great’

Josh Martinez of the enormously popular reality game show Big Brother is out from this round of the fun.

The Season 19 champion, 26, was removed from competition with only days left before the Season 22 premiere of the All Stars edition of the show out of an abundance of precaution on the part of Big Brother producers, after Martinez tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

TMZ reports that Josh’s test was possibly a false positive, since he repeatedly tested negative for the virus during the two-week sequestering period he participated in leading up to the show’s Wednesday night premiere.

According to production sources, in spite of Josh’s subsequent test results coming back all negative, the one positive led the show to the decision to remove him from the Big Brother House where he would have of course had regular and intimate contacts with other contestants.

On Tuesday, the reality star took to his Twitter to break the news of his absence from this season of BB, and to try and set the record straight in terms of his health.

‘There’s been a lot of speculation about me being on this season of big brother Allstars. I can say that I will not be on this season,’ Martinez tweeted Tuesday morning.

‘Many rumors have been said in the past few days about me that I couldn’t address but to be clear my health is great. #bb22’

‘Don’t believe everything you read online most of the rumors about me have been false,’ he continued in a subsequent tweet.

‘To be honest I’m bummed that I’m not on but couldn’t be more grateful with everyone over at CBS for always being so great, supportive, & being part of completely changing my life for the better.’

Josh also appeared on his Instagram Story a day later, just ahead of the premiere of the season, to reiterate why he wasn’t on the show and to assure fans he’s doing just fine.

And while he was released from the pre-show sequester early after his positive result came back, Martinez seems healthy and has even been seen out in Los Angeles with friends.

In his place, an alternate contestant was put into the Big Brother house for the season.

And like with all productions currently starting back up, the hit CBS game show has put in place some major coronavirus safety guidelines and precautions in order to protect both cast and crew.
