Saffron Barker gets called out by fans for her awkward use of French after mispronouncing fashion brand Comme des Garçons
She has acquired plenty of skills as a Youtube star and Strictly Come Dancing contestant.
But Saffron Barker is yet to master the skill of speaking other languages as she failed in her attempt to pronounce the French-Japanese fashion brand, Comme des Garçons.
The Strictly star, 20, garnered criticism online for failing to get the correct pronunciation after she received a pair of the label’s high-top trainers for her birthday last week.

Saffron turned 20 on July 24 and decided to upload a Youtube What I Got video on Saturday, detailing all the presents she received.
She was gifted a selection of luxury fashion gifts including an Off-White suitcase, a Chanel coffee-table book and a pair of converse Comme des Garçons trainers which she received from her boyfriend, Tyler Dixon.
As she showed off her new shoes in the video, Saffron believed she had the correct pronunciation, but her fans were quick to point out where she went wrong.

One fan said: ‘Commey De Garkon? LOL. Pronounced Com De Garson babe.’
Another fan broke down the correct etymology of the phrase: “It’s pronounced ‘kom-du-gar-sons.’ It’s French, and means like the boys.”
Her French-speaking critics were also cringing at her linguistic blunder, as one said: ‘My french self is crying when she said comme des garçons.’
However other fans turned a blind eye, instead focusing their attention on her stunning makeup look and lavish gifts.

Several fans poured in with compliments regarding her beauty and said: ‘Can we just agree how stunning and beautiful Saffron is without and with makeup.’
Aside from posting a Youtube video detailing her gifts, the 20-year old has been celebrating her birthday in style as she jetted off to Santorini this week with her new beau.
Saffron spoke of her budding romance to MailOnline: ‘We found love in lockdown and we are really enjoying spending time together – which isn’t just on FaceTime! Santorini was just stunning and I can’t wait for our next adventure.’

Back in May, Saffron revealed she’s ‘fitter than ever’ after training every day in lockdown and changing to a plant-based diet.
In an exclusive interview, the influencer explained she ‘wasn’t in the best place’ at the start of lockdown but focusing on her fitness goal of getting abs has given her a new lease of life.
She said: ‘At the start of lockdown I wasn’t in the best place. I was really run down and after that first week I thought, lets make use of this time.
‘It’s weird, since lockdown I feel like I’m fitter than ever. I’m in the best shape of my life.
