Amanda Kloots posts side-by-side of late husband Nick Cordero and son Elvis, 1, on Instagram

Her husband Nick Cordero tragically passed away on July 5 due to COVID-19 complications, after battling for his life for more than 90 days in hospital.

And Amanda Kloots, 38, took to Instagram on Sunday to marvel at the striking resemblance her son Elvis, one, shares with the 41-year-old Broadway star.

‘I have said from the beginning that Elvis is a mini Nick but WOW this side by side sealed the deal,’ wrote Kloots, who shared a side-by-side of Elvis and Nick.

She noted that one of her followers had sent her the precious side-by-side snapshot and that when she saw it it ‘took [her] breath away.’

Amanda and Nick welcomed Elvis in June of last year.

In the photo, Nick and Elvis flashed similar facial expressions at the camera and Amanda admitted that Elvis has continued to do that particular look a lot.

‘I’ve noticed now that Elvis does this look a lot to me. When he is playing and I call his name to look at me or we are cuddling in bed and he looks up at me. It makes my heart melt,’ she gushed.

‘I feel so lucky to have Elvis in my life. A piece of Nick that is still alive. I am so grateful for that.’

Amanda wrote how she has been ‘trying to find the things in [her] life that [she is] grateful for through this difficult time when nothing seems right.’

‘I always start my day with a positive quote but I am going to start adding in what I am grateful for to remind me that there are always blessings even in the most difficult of times,’ concluded Kloots.

Amanda’s post comes just days after the professional dancer opened up about her experience with grief on her Instagram.

In the heartbreaking confessional, Kloots – who married Nick in 2017 – admitted that the tragic loss has left her ‘unable to think or move’.

‘Every day, as I process this loss more and more, I realize new things that are hitting me on a daily basis. Today it was that I lost our family. I lost my husband. Elvis lost his father, but today I realized we lost our family,’ she wrote.

Sharing the challenges of moving forward, the online influencer explained: ‘We didn’t really even get to be a family. We won’t have those memories that I dreamed of since Elvis was born. This hit me hard.

‘It stung like a horrible bug bite actually. The pain of everything has recently begun to stop me in my tracks. I’ll be doing something and I freeze, unable to think or move. My gut aches, it actually aches deeper than I ever knew it could.’

Amanda said that she decided to upload her message to Instagram in the ‘hopes that if anyone else can relate’ or is dealing with unimaginable loss, that they are not alone.

‘Know that I’m here with you. If anyone else feels this pain, you are not alone. Grieving is a journey we all do differently.

‘Talking about it when I have the strength is helping me. I don’t always have the strength, sometimes I can’t talk at all. There are no answers. There is no right or wrong. I can only allow myself the time and the process and be honest with that,’ concluded the fitness instructor.

Cordero was first admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in March and initially diagnosed with pneumonia, but later tested positive positive for the coronavirus – after having tested negative on the first two occasions.

Due to restrictions in place to prevent the virus’ spread, Amanda was unable to be at her husband’s side in the hospital.

Initially, Nick’s symptoms were intermittent. In an interview with Buzzfeed at the time, Amanda said Nick ‘could not get out of bed, so tired, no energy, that was really his only symptom.’

But his condition soon took a drastic turn for the worse, and shortly after being admitted to the hospital, Nick was placed on a ventilator by doctors.
