Katie Lowes couldn’t contain her excitement on Friday as she announced she was pregnant.

The 37-year-old Scandal star looked overjoyed as she revealed that ‘baby #2 was on the way with her husband Adam Shapiro.

The actress celebrated the news with a series of selfies posted to Instagram that tracked her baby’s growth in the womb via her sonograms.

‘We want to share some good news!’ Katie captioned the post. ‘Baby #2 coming November 2020. Adam, Albee, and I are so excited! ❤️❤️❤️+❤️.’ 

Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Ralph Break The Internet voice actor had to be masked in all of her photos to protect herself and to help slow the spread of the virus. 

The pictures appeared to be screenshots taken by Adam from FaceTime chats with his wife at the doctor’s office, as loved ones wouldn’t have been allowed at the appointments to decrease the infection risk.

Each photo featured new sonogram images, and the fetus grew noticeably by the final picture.

Katie got plenty of praise in the comments from her celebrity friends, including Chelsea Handler, who wrote: ‘Somebody was getting busy during covid!!!! Yahoo!’

Her Scandal showrunner Shonda Rhimes wrote, ‘CONGRATS!!!!!’ and ‘More tiny humans to love!!!’

Katharine McPhee congratulated her ‘sweet Katie,’ while Busy Philipps gushed, ‘Im so happy,’ and Jamie Lynn Sigler commented, ‘Katie !!!!!!!! Omg I’m so happy for you guys !!!!!!’

He shared Katie’s post to his Insta Stories and joked that they were ‘Making this quarantine and [sic] quartetantine,’ now that there would be four members of their family.

The acting couple have been married since 2012, and they welcomed their first bundle of joy, Albee, in 2017.

Back in 2018, the voice actress admitted on her podcast Katie’s Crib that she had suffered a miscarriage before her first son was born.

‘The initial feeling, when I found out there was no heartbeat from the doctor in a routine checkup, was like, “Okay, let’s Olivia Pope the situation, let’s fix it,”‘ she said.

‘”Let’s make the schedule, let’s get to the hospital, let’s get the [dilation and curettage. When can I start trying again?”‘

The loss also led to an intense period of sadness after her hormone levels changed following the miscarriage.

‘As soon as it set in that I’d had a miscarriage, what happens is you have a major hormonal drop-off,’ she explained. ‘And I think I was massively sad for about three months, and I was only pregnant for three months.’
