‘I was hoping it would be Brooke Blurton [from Nick Cummins’ season], she seemed like a good choice for racial diversity and also representing the LGBTQIA+ community, and she’s great,’ Abbie said.

Despite Elly and Becky not being her first choice, the blonde is excited to see how the show will work with two Bachelorettes this season.

‘I’m sure it will be a good watch to see how two Bachelorettes play out,’ she added.

Abbie’s choice: On Wednesday it was announced that former Bachelor star Elly Miles and her sister Becky (left) are both set to be the next Bachelorettes, but Abbie thinks that Brooke Blurton (right) should have been chosen instead

Abbie and Elly, who both appeared on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor, had a tumultuous history on the show.

In fact, during the season they had a heated confrontation after Elly told Matt that she didn’t think Abbie was taking the show seriously and that she wasn’t emotionally mature enough for him.

It resulted in Abbie remarking: ‘I am disgusted by Elly, I think she’s a horrible person who has a complete facade of being a nice person.’

However, the two women have since made amends with Elly, telling TV Week last year that ‘Abbie is not a bad girl. She’s very witty, very intelligent, and she’s a lot of fun as well.’

She added: ‘At the time I thought I was doing the right thing, and I was being protective over Matt because he’s a great guy and I had really strong feelings for him.

‘But, in saying that, watching it back you can see that Abbie and Matt do have a really strong connection.’
