Kanye West hired top political advisers and is working with organizations to beef up campaign team

Kanye West is expanding his campaign team in a bid to get on the ballot in more states, after he recently filed paperwork for New Jersey, Missouri, Oklahoma and his home of Illinois.

Despite his disastrous rally in South Carolina earlier this month, and after missing deadlines in some states, West is pushing ahead to ensure he gets enough signatures to appear on the ballots in New York and West Virginia.

The 43-year-old has hired experienced political advisers, TMZ reports, after his wife Kim Kardashian West flew home to California following apparent marriage crisis talks in Wyoming.

The publication reports that West – who is also a fashion designer – has got his advisers to team up with third party organizations in order to get more boots on the ground.

The volunteers are said to be spreading awareness of West’s campaign by visiting malls and popular restaurants so he can qualify for the ballot in more states.

West must beat a Thursday deadline in New York and by Monday he must have at least 7,114 to valid signatures from registered voters to appear on the ballot in West Virginia.

Although it was believed West is running under the Birthday Party, the term ‘slogan pending’ appears on his New Jersey state document.

However objections to the validity of those signatures can occur before 5pm on Friday July 31.

It comes after in his home state of Illinois, there were several objections over the validity of thousands of signatures.

One objector, Sean Tenner, claimed to find only 1,000 valid signatures among the approximately 3,200 submitted.

A hearing is scheduled next week over the validity.

West has also submitted documents to get on the ballot in Missouri – where 10,000 signatures are required and it costs more than $30,000 to apply – and in Oklahoma where it cost $35,000.

West will officially be on the presidential ballot in Oklahoma and he has filed the proper paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to make the run.

In an interview with Forbes Wednesday, West named Michelle Tidball as his running mate ahead of the election

In an interview with Forbes about his presidential run, Kanye West named Michelle Tidball (pictured right) as his running mate ahead of the 2020 election

Steve Kramer, an election strategist hired by West to focus on getting his name on the ballot in Florida and South Carolina, told the publication the Intelligencer earlier this month that ‘He’s out’.

‘I’ll let you know what I know once I get all our stuff canceled. We had over 180 people out there today,’ Kramer initially told Intelligencer when the Florida campaign came to an end.

‘I have nothing good or bad to say about Kanye,’ he later added.

‘Everyone has their personal decision about why they make decisions. Running for president has to be one of the hardest things for someone to actually contemplate at that level.’

West named Michelle Tidball, 57, as his running mate ahead of the 2020 election.

Tidball hails from Cody, Wyoming – the same town where West owns a $14 million ranch.

He had already missed deadlines to add his name to the presidential ballot in six states by the time of his July 4 announcement to run.

Of the 538 Electoral College votes total, West would already be missing out on 102 of those votes if he were to successfully make his way onto the ballot in other states.

He could, however, have run in these states as a write-in candidate. Although, rules for this type of candidacy vary from state to state and in many states do not count or are tallied as part of the ‘other’ category.

On Saturday, West tweeted that he can ‘beat Biden off of write ins.’

On Monday, the same day of his New Jersey application, West was spotted reunited with wife Kim Kardashian West.

Kardashian – who has four children with West – looked distressed following a political campaign rally and Twitter meltdown last week.

During the rally he broke down in tears as he discussed how they once considered having an abortion and hinted she had an affair with rapper Meek Mill, which West has since publicly apologized for.

West – who sparked a backlash in 2018 by tweeting that he was the modern day equivalent of Harriet Tubman – also claimed at his recent rally that the historic abolitionist who freed seventy slaves and campaigned for women’s suffrage, didn’t help free slaves.

‘She is very emotional about everything, and also exhausted,’ a source told People magazine on Monday. ‘She feels very hurt by Kanye. She has tried to reach him multiple times and he just ignores her. It’s all a bad situation.’

The insider added: ‘She decided to fly to Cody to speak with him in person. She doesn’t want to be ignored anymore.’

It was after comedian Dave Chappelle, Music producer Damon Dash, and pop star Justin Bieber were pictured visiting West in Wyoming where he owns a $14million ranch.

Bieber reportedly told Mr. West to speak to Kardashian.

‘Complicated and painful’: Kim took to Instagram last Wednesday, saying she feels ‘powerless’ amid his struggle with bi-polar disorder

Last week, Kim took to Instagram following Kanye’s controversial behavior, admitting that she was ‘powerless’ amid his meltdown, calling her husband ‘brilliant but complicated’.

WHAT IS BIPOLAR?

Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder which causes unusual and often sudden changes in mood and energy levels.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?

Moods of those with bipolar disorder range from periods of extreme elation and energy (known as a manic episode) to periods of extreme somberness and lack of energy (known as a depressive episode).

HOW IS IT DIAGNOSED?

According to the International Bipolar Foundation, sufferers are diagnosed with rapid cycling if they have four or more manic, hypomanic, or depressive episodes in any 12-month period.

This severe form of the condition occurs in around 10 to 20 percent of all people with bipolar disorder.

WHAT CAUSES IT?

Currently it is unknown what is the cause of bipolar disorder, which affects around 5.7 million US adults aged 18 or older.

Scientists say genetics could play a role or that those with a a family history of bipolar disorder are more likely to have it.

West has been open about his struggle with bipolar disorder and, in 2016, he spent time in hospital after a ‘psychiatric emergency’ that forced him to cancel 21 concert dates.

The reality star said ‘his words sometimes do not align with his intentions’ after Kanye last night claimed he has been ‘trying to get divorced’ from Kim since she met his fellow rapper Meek Mill at a hotel.

‘I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions,’ she told her 180 million followers.

‘He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder.

‘Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions.’

In past years West has appeared to show support for President Trump but he recently declared he no longer feels the same way.

He has also vowed he can beat presumed Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

Radio host Charlamagne also blamed Biden for creating an environment where people are considering voting for West.

‘You know America is in a terrible place when Kanye West seems like a viable option, OK?’ Charlamagne laughed. ‘America we need a change. I don’t know how we ended up in a position where in November we have to vote for two old white males, again.

‘Racism is the American way, ok? Donald Trump is not the first, and sadly, he won’t be the last, alright?’ Charlamagne, whose real name is Lenard Larry McKelvey, said. ‘He’s just more overt with his racism than most presidents we’ve had in recent times.’

‘That’s why when Joe Biden incorrectly referred to Donald Trump as America’s first racists president, ok, like he did yesterday… we have to check that immediately, ok? We can’t have no revisionist history here,’ the show host continued.
