Chris Hemsworth‘s wife, Elsa Pataky, found herself in a very dangerous situation on Monday after attempting to drive through a flooded road in Byron Bay.
And while the Spanish actress, 44, initially laughed off the incident, she was spotted looking decidedly stressed a day later while visiting a petrol station in Bangalow, Byron Bay, with her children.
Elsa, who risked injury on Monday while climbing out of her car window, wore a strained expression as she parked at the petrol bowser and began filling up her car.

The car appeared to be the same vehicle as the one Elsa was driving when she attempted during Monday’s incident.
As she waited for her the petrol to fill up, Elsa was seen pensively staring at her reflection in the car’s side door – perhaps while contemplating the dangers of driving into floodwater.
Going makeup-free, the model dressed for comfort in a baggy ‘1979’ sweatshirt and a pair of skinny jeans.

She also wore a pair of sturdy leather boots – perhaps to protect her legs from any other floodwater she may encounter.
To complete her look, she layered on delicate jewellery including rings, earrings and a chain necklace.
A day earlier, Elsa sparked controversy when she documented an ill-fated road trip with her children and friend Luke Zocchi, who is her husband’s longtime personal trainer.

After realising she had driven into a flooded road, Elsa shared several selfies complaining about the conundrum before finally escaping out of the car window.
Despite the perilous situation, Elsa managed to stay positive as she documented her escape on Instagram, where she has more than 3.8 million followers.
While she shrugged off the incident, Australians subsequently blasted Elsa online for driving through floodwater when she didn’t know the depth.

The dangers of driving through floodwater are well documented.
Aside from potentially damaging the vehicle, someone who chooses to drive in floodwater risks sustaining major injuries – either while trying to leave the vehicle or by staying inside the vehicle as it floats away.
According to the NRMA, it only takes shallow water for a car to become buoyant.

‘Even if you have the good fortune to survive getting caught in a flood in your car, the damage your vehicle will certainly suffer will make you regret taking the chance,’ the organisation warns.
