Drew Barrymore kicks off the launch of her new self titled daytime talk show with digital lineup

Drew Barrymore is preparing to be the latest name in daytime talk shows. 

Ahead of the premiere of the Drew Barrymore Show, on September 14, the Santa Clarita Diet star, 45, is launching a digital lineup. 

Alongside a new website for the show, Barrymore sat down for an introduction video, out Monday, to announced her first digital show, Drew’s Movie Night, and the other specials fans can look forward to.

Her first mini series, Drew’s Movie Night, will premiere online on July 30, and will focus on the comedy film Good Burger. 

Barrymore will sit down with the movie’s stars Keenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell to discuss the hit film as well as a live Twitter watch party beginning at 8:00pm EST.  

Other segments to follow, in the weeks leading up to the talk show’s premiere, will be focused on The Making Of her show, learning tips and tricks on interviewing and cooking.   

In a series called, The Art of the Interview, Barrymore said she ‘will actually be talking to hosts that inspire me, and have these wonderful in-depth conversations about advice they have to give me, the process its self, their research and everything that goes into the job.’

She will be talking to Gayle King, Andy Cohen, Jimmy Fallon, Whoopi Goldberg and Sean Evans, among others to prepare for her own show, Deadline reported.  

Of the Making Of series, Barrymore said it’s ‘A series that’s very near and dear to me.’ 

‘I have been on this show journey for a year. We started in 2019, it is now 2020, a very different year,’ she continued. 

Adding: ‘And what that year-long journey has been like, where were we, where are we now and how did we get to where we are going. I’m really looking forward to telling you that, in a storytelling way.’

She will also discuss cookbooks and cooking in Drew’s Cookbook Club.

‘I love cookbooks,’ she said. ‘I’m an avid reader of them and I want to talk to other people who feel the exact same way as I do. And we’re going to be bringing you lots of tips on cookbooks.’ 

On the newly launched website she included a written statement saying ‘I am so excited about all the things that will start to bloom here, as I hope this can become a garden of resources for you. As our show gears up and gets ready to launch, I am so in awe of this opportunity to start right here and now!’ 

Adding: ‘In this year 2020, I truly hope to meet this moment. I want to innovate and make a collective experience out of a daytime show. I have worked my whole life, but somehow this feels different! High stakes! And endless ways to connect with people!’

Creating her show as a discussion for growth on topics including poop culture, human interest to comedy, she said ‘we can have those amazing discussions that we need to have in order to grow!’
