Jackie ‘O’ Henderson compares Melbourne to a zombie apocalypse

‘We don’t know how lucky we are’: Jackie ‘O’ Henderson compares Melbourne to a zombie apocalypse as she jets over to film The Masked Singer

She has flown from Sydney to Melbourne to film season two of The Masked Singer.

And on Monday, radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson described the once-bustling city as ‘very dire and grim’ while speaking on her KIIS 106.5 breakfast show.

‘We don’t know how lucky we are in Sydney that we have not got to this stage. It’s so weird here,’ Jackie, 45, told her co-host Kyle Sandilands.

‘I feel like I’ve just entered a city that has just had a zombie apocalypse happen,’ she continued.

Kyle, 49, couldn’t believe things were that bad, asking: ‘Is that what it feels like?’

Jackie then explained: ‘No one’s around and if they are, everyone is wearing face masks. It’s not fun wearing a mask. It’s really not.’

Kyle interrupted Jackie to say he had been having a fun shopping for face masks.

‘I’ve been shopping online for masks over the weekend. You can get some really cool ones now in America,’ he said.

‘Mine, I go for one that’s from the under the eyes all the way down. It sort of goes over your neck as well. It’s very fashion forward.’

The state of Victoria recorded 532 new coronavirus cases on Monday.

Melbourne is almost halfway through a six-week lockdown aimed at curbing community spread of COVID-19. Mask wearing in Australia’s second-largest city became compulsory last week.

On Friday, Jackie revealed on air that she won’t be able to see her daughter, Kitty, nine, for two weeks when she gets back from Melbourne.

She explained that she will have to self-isolate at home for a fortnight once she returns to Sydney.
