Helena Bonham Carter injected a dash of colour to a grey day as she stepped out in  north London on Monday.

The actress, 54, was seen running errands on her bicycle, wrapping up in a black puffer jacket from the rain.

She was sure to keep things quirky, however, adding a long multi-coloured skirt to the mix.

The Crown star whipped her russet locks atop her head with an olive green ribbon and wore her glasses on a string around her neck.

The Hollywood actress added bronzer to her look as she collected some shopping and put it in the wicker basket at the front of her bike.

Her last sighting was during sunnier climes in the English city, which saw her heading out in a sun dress.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Lesley Manville, 64, will replace Helena in the fifth and sixth series of Netflix drama The Crown, in which she stars as the Queen’s free-spirited sister Princess Margaret.

Imelda Staunton will also join the cast. She has been cast as Queen Elizabeth II in the hit show.

Lesley is believed to have been producers first choice for the role, and is set to play the Queen’s younger sister during one of the ‘darkest periods of her life.’

Confirming the news in a statement, she said: ‘I could not be happier to be playing Princess Margaret. The baton is being passed on from two formidable actresses and I really don’t want to let the side down.

‘Furthermore, to play siblings with my dear friend Imelda Staunton will be nothing short of a complete joy.’

The role has been played by Helena for season three and upcoming season four, and was taken on by Vanessa Kirby in season one and two.

Season four is set to return in 2021.
