Big Brother Australia crowned its 2020 winner at Wednesday night’s live finale – international male model Chad Hurst.

But it appears the reality TV hunk’s win over rivals Daniel Gorringe and Sophie Budack was actually a crushing victory.

Channel Seven won’t confirm the exact voting numbers, but Daily Mail Australia understands Chad won by a significant margin.

A female producer on KIIS FM’s The Kyle And Jackie O Show mentioned on Thursday’s episode that a Channel Seven publicist had confirmed Chad ‘won by a landslide’.

Earlier in the broadcast, Chad claimed he didn’t know the specifics of the voting tally but was interested in finding out the percentage breakdown.

A conversation on finalist Daniel’s Instagram page between two housemates also suggested Chad had secured an overwhelming majority of the pubic’s votes.

‘I want a recount (joke -insert laugh here)… I just wanted to say a couple of things. Firstly, congratulations to Chad & Sophie you both should be super proud and I wish you all the best. Secondly, and more importantly, to you guys. From the bottom of my heart thank you so much,’ former AFL player Daniel wrote.

Daniel’s Big Brother ‘alpha’ teammate Mat Garrick commented on the post: ‘I saw the vote count this morning.(not pretty) You should be so proud of yourself big man and give yourself some bloody credit every once in a while.’

Daniel then suggested he had received significantly less votes than Chad in his response to Mat.

‘I think we got the same amount of votes and no one had a chance to vote for you [Mat]. We’re going alright,’ he joked.

Hmm! When asked what he was going to spend the prize money on, Chad revealed he would go on a boys' trip and pay off his mother's bills - but he didn't reference Sophie Budack

After being declared the winner, Chad told host Sonia Kruger that he intended to use the prize to fund a boys’ trip and pay off his mother’s outstanding bills.

‘We had the after-party with the housemates, and then the boys [Chad’s friends] were at the pub waiting for me, so I went around there and had a few beers with the lads. It was nice,’ Chad told Daily Mail Australia of his night out celebrating.

After losing the $230,000 cash prize to Chad, Daniel captioned a loved-up photo with his girlfriend Ana Cannon: ‘worth more than any money. Let’s go home.’
