Draya Michele apologizes for Megan Thee Stallion shooting joke

Draya Michele has apologized to Megan Thee Stallion after joking about her getting shot. 

Earlier this month Megan, 25, was involved in an incident with the rapper Tory Lanez, 27, which led to her being treated in hospital for gunshot wounds and him being arrested and Megan was furious after media personality Draya, 35, made light of the situation during an appearance on the Wine and Weed podcast. 

‘I truly don’t glorify domestic violence… I was trying to say just love me deeply. But while trying to be funny, I offended many, including meg. And I’m sorry,’ tweeted the media personality on Wednesday., after being called out by Megan. 

Michelle said on Steelo Brim’s podcast, ‘I predict that they had some sort of Bobby [Brown] and Whitney [Houston] love that drove them down this type of road,” Draya joked. “I’m here for it. I like that.’

While she didn’t mention Megan (born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete), 25, by name, she added, ‘I want you to like me so much you shoot me in the foot too,’ clearly referring to the rapper being shot in the foot during a house party where rapper Tory Lanez was arrested on a gun charge. 

Shortly after Michelle’s tweet, Megan clapped back, pulling no punches, stating, ‘Dumb b***h that shit ain’t fucking funny who tf jokes about getting shot by a n***a.’

She added in another tweet, ‘And f**k all the hoe ass niggas making jokes about it too,’ along with the black middle finger emoji. ‘I’ll talk about s**t when I get ready.’ 

Draya subsequently apologized for what she said in her brief apology tweet directed at the rapper. 

Megan and Tory Lanez attended a pool party hosted by Kylie Jenner last Saturday, and they were pulled over by Los Angeles police at 4:30 AM on Sunday.

The rapper set the record straight on Instagram, stating, ‘I suffered gunshot wounds as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,’ though she didn’t say who shot her.

Tory Lanez was ultimately arrested on a gun charge, with the rapper adding that she was ‘never arrested’ and was taken to the hospital where she ‘underwent surgery to remove the bullets.’

She also took to Twitter last Friday, stating, ‘Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own. 

‘It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized,’ she added.

She added in her Instagram statement that she is, ‘grateful to be alive’ adding she is, ‘expected to make a full recovery.’

The rapper added, ‘it was important to clarify the details of this traumatic night’ and she’s currently focused on her recovery.

Megan Thee Stallion burst onto the scene last year with her breakthrough hit song Hot Girl Summer.
