Dr Chris Brown reveals Channel Ten are ‘discussing plans’ to start filming the next season of I’m A Celebrity – and says it’s a ‘show that’s made for isolation and quarantine’

He co-hosts I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia with Julia Morris.

And on Thursday, Dr Chris Brown revealed Channel Ten’s plans to begin filming the next season of the show.

In an interview with Now To Love, the 41-year-old said: ‘There’s a lot of discussions taking place at the moment. I feel like we’ll be back but I just don’t know how, or where, or in what form.’

He added: ‘It’s become such a feature of the Australian summer to watch celebrities in the jungle so hopefully we can put them back in there.’ 

Chris went on to say this is the perfect show to start filming during the coronavirus pandemic as it’s ‘made for isolation and quarantine’.

‘They are quarantined away from everything. We have minimal contact with them. We’re never allowed to touch them or be close to them… It’s probably the safest place for them to be,’ he said.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! usually premieres in January but COVID-19 has delayed production for the show.

The show is still rumoured to be going ahead for 2021, but probably won’t be filmed in South Africa due to travel restrictions.

Last year, chef Miguel Maestre was crowned the winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia after beating retired AFL star Dale Thomas.

The 40-year-old broke down in tears as he claimed the title of King of the Jungle, with monies raised going towards suicide prevention charity, R U OK? 

Meanwhile, Channel Ten’s The Bachelor – which is currently on a production hiatus – will also return this year, as will its sister show, The Bachelorette.

The Masked Singer is slated to begin production in Melbourne, but judge Lindsay Lohan will not be returning due to travel restrictions.
