Channel 10 is ‘in discussions’ to start filming the next season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! as host Dr Chris Brown says it’s a ‘show made for isolation and quarantine’

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! should begin production in the coming months, according to host Dr Chris Brown.

On Thursday, the celebrity vet revealed there had been ‘discussions’ at Channel 10 about how a locally-produced, COVID-safe version of the show would work.

He told Now To Love: ‘There’s a lot of discussions taking place at the moment. I feel like we’ll be back but I just don’t know how, or where, or in what form.’

He added: ‘It’s become such a feature of the Australian summer to watch celebrities in the jungle so hopefully we can put them back in there.’

Chris, 41, said that I’m a Celebrity was the perfect show to film during the pandemic because ‘it’s made for isolation and quarantine’.

‘The contestants are quarantined away from everything. We have minimal contact with them. We’re never allowed to touch them or be close to them… It’s probably the safest place for them to be,’ he said.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! usually premieres in January, but the coronavirus crisis has delayed production.

Filming is still rumoured to be going ahead for 2021, but almost certainly won’t take place in South Africa due to travel restrictions.
