Brooks Laich is ‘definitely still open’ to reconciling with estranged wife Julianne Hough

It’s been just under two months since actress/dancer Julianne Hough split with her husband, hockey player Brooks Laich, with Laich reportedly wanting to reconcile.

Hough, 32, started dating Laich in December 2013, when Laich was playing for the NHL’s Washington Capitals, and they were engaged in August 2015 and married in July 2017.

The pair split in late May, but sources tell People that Laich is ‘definitely still open’ to getting back together with Hough.

‘If that were an option, he would be all in,’ an unnamed insider revealed. 

‘Her friends and family love him, and everyone is pulling for him. He’s a great guy, and they would love to see Julianne give things another chance,’ the insider added.

Hough and Laich confirmed their split on May 29, after rumors had spread while they had been social distancing from each other amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate,’ the couple began in a joint statement. 

‘We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place. We kindly request your compassion and respect for our privacy moving forward,’ the statement concluded.

Hough had revealed last year that she is ‘not straight’ and that she is ‘a deeply different person than she was when they got married.’

Laich has been staying close with Hough’s family, seen working out with her brother Derek Hough on his 37th birthday in June.

It seems a reconciliation may be on the horizon too, since USWeekly also reported on Wednesday that Hough wants Laich back.

‘They are both a bit anxious and in the past have gone back and forth in terms of their relationship, so things are always up in the air with them,’ a source revealed.

‘But they are not back together even though Julianne fully does want him back,’ the source added.

Hough also sparked speculation about a reconciliation earlier in July, by sharing some cryptic Instagram posts.

‘When feeling stuck, depressed, anxious, or hopeless, try taking your attention off of yourself and helping someone less fortunate than you,’ a post shared by Hough read. ‘Selfless acts of service ignite life force energy in the giver.’
