Million Dollar Listing: Tracy Tutor sells opulent Los Angeles home for $21.9 million after divorce

Tracy Tutor moved on after a divorce by selling her home for $21.9 million on Tuesday’s episode of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.

The 44-year-old real-estate agent ended her 13-year-marriage to husband Jason Maltas in late 2017, and finally put her opulent Los Angeles home on the market.

She was still grappling with selling the place, to which she was emotionally attached, as she had raised her two daughters there, and now split custody.

Done deal: Tracy Tutor moved on after a divorce by selling her luxurious Los Angeles home for $21.9 million on Tuesday’s episode of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles on Bravo

During the season 12 episode, she drove sales agent Gina Dickerson crazy by calling constantly to check on showings for the Brentwood home that Tracy listed at $23.9 million.

Buyers liked the seven-bedroom property, and Gina received an offer for $19 million, to which a shocked Tracy replied that they should counter for two million more.

Gina marveled at how composed Tracy was, considering she’d have to find a new place soon.

‘I have to compartmentalize this stuff in order to move through it,’ Tracy admitted. ‘There’s not enough room in my brain, or for my children, to fall apart right now and start grabbing things and crying about it.’

Tracy added that she wasn’t used to being on the sellers’ side of the real-estate transaction, and was taken aback by the fact that Gina had an offer for her.

At an open house for one of Tracy’s clients, Gina approached again with good news.

‘I know this is not the ideal time, but they accepted your counter, and you’re moving,’ she announced.

‘Holy s***,’ Tracy said, putting her hands to her temples and wondering where she’d live.

She had five days to find a place, but was sanguine about what was happening.

‘Of course, I’ll miss sitting on the back patio, watching my daughters play in the backyard, but the truth is, this new chapter is going to be exciting,’ Tracy considered. ‘I have no idea what it holds, but I want and look forward to something different.’

‘I’m moving!’ she told people at the open house, toasting to it with a cocktail. ‘Jesus.’

Earlier in the episode, Tracy had pushed thoughts of her divorce and home sale out of her mind.

She had been asked by a fellow broker, Tim Durkovic, to represent the sale of his Pasadena home La Mirada, a four-bedroom originally been built in 1952.

Tracy admired the home’s streamlined design, incredible view, and kidney-shaped pool, feeling certain buyers would like it.

‘Mid-century modern is popular because it allows people in a $2 million price point up to a $40 million price point to be attracted to it,’ she explained.

Like Tracy, the home’s co-owner, Tim, was a realtor who was too invested in his own place to sell it.

Tracy priced it at $3.32 million, and threw an open house inspired by photographer Slim Aarons, the great chronicler of mid-century style, who died in 2006.

For the open house, Tracy dressed in vintage wear, hired models made up to look like they were from the 1960s and early 1970s, and put out fondue pots and yellow flowers.

She soon got good news: La Mirada had a full-price offer from an unnamed celebrity, though it went for $3.295 million in the end to cover landscaping.

As Tracy notched a successful sale, broker Josh Altman, 41, drove to see a six-bedroom space he hoped to represent in the Hollywood Hills.

He had more than business on his mind, as he’d just become a father for the second time, to Ace David Altman, born July 16, 2019.

‘The Altman family has expanded to four,’ Josh revealed. ‘We just had a baby 12 days ago, little Ace Altman. We couldn’t be more excited to have this little legend in the family.’

In a home video, Josh was shown presenting Ace to his daughter Alexis, three, for the first time, telling her, ‘This is your little baby brother. Wanna give your baby brother a kiss?’

As he drove to the potential listing, Josh told his wife Heather Altman to give the kids a smooch for him, saying he missed them enormously that day.

When Josh arrived at the Hollywood Hills property, he learned that its owner Ken had bought it for $8.2 million a few years before.

Ken had put $2.1 million into a renovation, and had ‘gutted it down to the studs,’ carving out a massive master bedroom, sleek kitchen, and huge walk-in closets.

For his first renovation, Ken had done a great job, Josh observed privately.

‘Does it ooze elegance and charm?’ he asked the cameras. ‘No, but if you want a super-clean modern, this fits the bill.’

Ken had heard from other agents that his place could go for $15 million, but Josh suspected they were just telling him that to score the listing.

He quoted Ken $13 million, and the man didn’t like it, rejecting Josh as a broker.

‘You’re going in the wrong direction,’ Josh warned him. ‘There’s people telling you what you want to hear, and not the truth.’

The broker perked up when he saw the new façade for the Altman Brothers building, where he and brother Matt Altman were setting up shop.

They’d hired famed street artist Gregory Siff, 42, to decorate it with his colorful icons, featuring words like ‘Truth,’ ‘Passion’ and ‘Drive.’

They even added one for Josh’s dog Diego, a mixed-breed rescue who died recently.

Broker Josh Flagg, 34, didn’t have an easy time on the episode, failing to land buyers for a home.

Flagg’s attention to detail landed him the listing for Casa Oceana, a three-bedroom oceanside home in Long Beach built by famed architect Roland Coate in 1928.

The property was back on the market for the first time in 43 years, and drew interest for its enormous acreage, period details and resort-style pool and sauna.

Flagg listed it for $11.995 million, and spent his promotional budget on a resort-style party that highlighted its casual feel, hiring ads and a plane to advertise it.

‘De plane! De plane!’ he cried as the pilot flew by the house, with a banner touting ‘Casa Oceana’ and Josh’s website.

Unfortunately, the home only got ‘looky-loos’ who were more interested in taking a peek at it than actually placing an offer.

Josh showed it again at dusk, sure that its glam look would tempt buyers.

They pushed back at the price, which he called ‘no bueno.’
