Bachelor in Paradise’s Abbie Chatfield calls out co-stars for ‘bullying’

She claimed that a group of women had ganged up on her in the mansion when she appeared on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor last year.

And on Wednesday, an emotional Abbie Chatfield called out her co-stars Cassandra Mamone and Mary Viturino for their long-term ‘slut shaming and bullying’ of her.

Taking to Instagram, the 25-year-old shared hidden camera footage from Bachelor in Paradise, which showed the pair discussing her while they were alone in their room.

‘Abbie is trying her hardest to get all the camera time,’ said Mary.

Cassandra added: ‘She’s getting into the pool in her bikini. She’s not the most important person here.’

Abbie, who was the first person to leave the show after failing to get a rose, then called out the two women for how they’d treated her for the past year.

‘Here we have the bullying and the slut-shaming regarding me wearing a bikini in Paradise,’ she said.

‘Despite the fact that everyone else is wearing a bikini but it’s an issue because it’s me,’ she added.

Abbie pointed out that no one was saying she did anything ‘mean or rude’, and that it was simply wearing a swimsuit that had irked her co-stars so much.

Next Abbie showed a clip of Cass and Mary discussing how happy they were after she was the first person to be sent home.

‘It was meant to be Abbie season two,’ laughed Mary.

Abbie called out her co-stars for being jealous that she received more screen time than them on The Bachelor last year, and confessed that wasn’t always a good thing.

‘I got death threats, I got my heart broken and I had to deal with that [the bullying] in the mansion for three months,’ she said as she started to tear up.

Abbie pointed out that there wasn’t hidden camera footage circulating of her talking badly about her co-stars.

‘If they had a video of that, they’d show it,’ she said.

Finally, Abbie admitted she felt ‘validated’ that viewers could finally see what really happened behind the scenes of The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise.

‘I feel so validated you guys get to see what I said happened in the mansion,’ she said.

Abbie and Cassandra quickly butted heads after they arrived in Fiji after failing to become friends last year while both dating Matt.

Abbie had her sights set solely on Ciarran Stott, and her tunnel vision made several of the other women uncomfortable – including Cassandra, who was also interested in the hunky Brit.

 During the premiere, both Cassandra and Mary said Abbie ‘gets what she wants’ and even suggested she would ‘put her boobs out’ in her pursuit of Ciarran.

But some fans noticed an undercurrent of ‘slut-shaming’ in the way Cassandra and Mary spoke about Abbie upon learning she had spent the night with the Englishman after the dinner party.

‘Hey guys, so we agree no slut-shaming Abbie this series because she’s a gorgeous, funny woman who’s confident and that’s not a bad thing?’ one supporter tweeted.

Another added: ‘The way the other girls STILL go so hard on slut-shaming Abbie as if it doesn’t require two people to make out?’

A third fan added: ‘Somebody tell Mary that hating on Abbie is so last year.’
