Sia says she ‘felt safe’ being with the Kardashians after attending Kanye West’s Sunday Service

‘I didn’t leave the house for three years except Kanye’s Sunday Service’: Sia details how the Kardashians helped her mental health… after her rise to fame left her with complex PTSD

  • The singer, 44, revealed earlier this year that her rise to fame had left her with complex PTSD and resulted in ‘a lot of suicidal ideation’

Singer Sia said she has a sense of safety with the Kardashians.

‘When I met them, I felt safe; it was so weird, I felt safe,’ the Australia native, 44, told Boston’s Mix 104.1’s Karson & Kennedy Talk with Famous People about her experiences attending a series of Kanye West‘s Sunday Service ceremonies.

The Chandelier performer said that the first family of reality TV has had a soothing impact on her psyche, since meeting Kim through Jennifer Lopez.

Comforted: Singer Sia, 44, said she has a sense of safety with the Kardashians. She said, ‘When I met them, I felt safe; it was so weird, I felt safe,’ to Boston’s Mix 104.1’s Karson & Kennedy Talk with Famous People on Monday

‘I love those girls … I only met them in the last couple of years, but the last couple of years have been hard,’ Sia said. ‘I wasn’t joking when I said that I think editing the movie made me sick. And wanting it to be exceptional made me sick, and insecurity made me sick.’

The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter said she ‘literally didn’t leave the house for maybe three years, except for every Sunday when [she] would go to Sunday Service because the singing was so incredible.’

The Cheap Thrills artist, who adopted two sons last year, opened up about how she naturally felt comfortable with the Los Angeles-based reality TV family.

‘When I met them, I felt safe; it was so weird, I felt safe,’ she said. ‘And I was doing a lot of complex PTSD trauma recovery in the last three years. I didn’t realize all of my diagnoses had been wrong. I’ve only ever had complex PTSD.

‘If she thought anyone in the group was gonna try to ask me for a selfie or was gonna try to FaceTime their children with me, she was extremely protective,’ Sia said.
