Katie Price has revealed her son Harvey shouted out ‘I want my mummy’ as he lay in intensive care.

The former glamour model, 42, has been giving fans updates on Harvey’s well being after he was recently rushed to hospital after struggling to breath. 

The mother-of-five told new magazine it was ‘horrible’ watching her son being brought in and admitted she was not permitted in the room with him due to coronavirus restrictions.

She said: ‘It’s awful seeing him in there with all the tubes in him. And when they put him into intensive care, he was ill but he still managed to shout ‘I want my mummy.’

‘I was standing outside the room with Junior and they wouldn’t let me in. It was horrible.’

Harvey’s condition has since improved and he was allowed visitors on Sunday when his siblings Bunny, five, and Jett, six, came to see him with their mother.

Harvey, 18, issued his thanks to well-wishers for their support amid his ongoing health battle after being discharged from intensive care.

The teen showed his gratitude in a heartfelt video uploaded to his mother’s Instagram account on Saturday evening.

In the clip, he spoke directly to followers as Katie affectionately stroked his face.

Katie began: ‘Harv, what do you want to say to all those people who have given you lovely messages?’

Harvey replied: ‘Thank you, everyone.’

She then asked how he was feeling, to which he replied: ‘Better.’

In the video, she added: ‘Mummy can’t stay with you, can she? So when is mummy coming back?’

And Harvey replied: ‘Tomorrow.’

The post comes after Katie revealed that Harvey was out of intensive care and his condition had ‘improved’.

The businesswoman took to Instagram once again on Friday to give an update on her boy adding that the teenager is using ‘only one drip’.

Alongside sweet snaps of the pair of them on Harvey’s hospital bed, Katie called her son ‘incredibly strong and brave’ amid his worrying health battle.

Katie wrote: ‘Hey everyone update my @officialmrharveyprice baby boy, he has been incredibly strong and brave and this evening he has improved, I’m so happy, it’s been so difficult.

In the pictures shared to her grid, Katie is seen holding her son close as they snuggle up on his hospital bed.

While another snap sees her wrap her arms around Harvey, who’s wearing a hospital gown, in a quiet moment with her son.

The post was soon flooded with dozens of well-wishes from Katie’s followers, including her ex-husband Kieran Hayler who wrote: ‘Such a fighter’.

Katie’s update comes after it was reported that Harvey could have remained in intensive care for weeks to come, after sources claimed he remains ‘seriously ill’.

The model was left devastated last weekend, when her eldest offspring was rushed to hospital with breathing difficulties and a high temperature, revealing later that Harvey’s medical condition ‘remains complex’.

And a source has claimed that his road to recovery remains a long one, telling The Sun: ‘Harvey’s a fighter and being very brave, but he’s not out of the woods yet.’

‘He’s still very seriously ill and could be in intensive care for weeks yet. His health issues are so complicated that everyone wants to make sure everything is treated.’

The source added of distraught mother-of-five Katie: ‘It’s heartbreaking for Katie.’

When contacted by MailOnline for comment, a representative for Katie Price stated: ‘Harvey indeed remains in ICU.’ 

Harvey has the rare genetic disorder Prader-Willi Syndrome, is partially blind due to Septo-optic dysplasia, autistic, diabetic and has an underactive thyroid.

Katie called an ambulance for her eldest child when she noticed he was feeling unwell before he was sent to a specialist paediatric ward.

According to the NHS, a high temperature is usually considered to be 38 degrees or above.
