MasterChef’s Khanh Ong shares hilarious video of Reynold Poernomo

Reynold Poernomo collapsed in tears as he was eliminated during Sunday night’s semi-final episode of MasterChef: Back To Win.

However, his former co-star Khanh Ong was on a mission to make him laugh, sharing a hilarious video of the pair to Instagram moments after.

In the short clip, Reynold, 26, was heard screaming as Khanh, 27, played with his ear.

Hilarious: Khanh Ong (pictured left with Brendan Pang) posted a video of fellow MasterChef star Reynold Poernomo screaming as he played with his ear, to Instagram on Sunday

Khanh sat next to the ‘dessert king’ in a vehicle and massaged his ear.

With the camera capturing Reynold’s expression, he squealed in horror.

Revealing Reynold’s pet name to be ‘rey rey’, Khanh wrote in the post’s caption: ‘I have no cute photos of us because… Standard.

‘So here’s our friendship pretty much summed up in a video. You had such an incredible run, you smashed every challenge, I am in awe of you constantly and I am so proud of everything you have achieved and there’s so much more ahead of you.

‘Can’t wait to work together soon, eat more of your crack bowl and annoy you even more rey rey,’ he concluded.

Reynold left fans devastated when he was sent home on Sunday after an emotional pressure test.

His candy apple dessert wasn’t enough to get over the line, with the judges deeming it too sweet and lacking bitterness.

Guest judge Martin Benn, of Sepia fame, described the dish as ‘lollipop sweet’ and said the apple component was too small.

Upon being eliminated, Reynold broke down completely, and was unable to speak as he wept.

He turned from the cameras, clutching his head, and at one stage leaned down on a bench, overcome with emotion.

With tears running down his face, the pastry chef composed himself enough to say: ‘This competition has given me so much.

‘I’m so happy to be here. Second chances don’t come around often. And it has been an absolute amazing experience.’

The judges called him an ‘inspiration’ and a ‘privilege’ to work with, owing to his perfectionism.

Afterwards, he admitted: ‘I feel pretty devastated. I really believed that I could win. But even though I didn’t win, I’d say it was all worth it.

‘It was all a journey. I don’t know where it’s going to take me but I know from here on, it’s nowhere but up.’
