‘I barely wore clothes!’ Kimberley Walsh admits she mostly wore bikinis during lockdown

She spent the coronavirus pandemic isolating in her North London home with husband Justin Scott and children Bobby, five, and Cole, three.

And Kimberley Walsh certainly made the most of her free time at home as she has admitted that she ‘barely’ wore clothes during lockdown, opting for bikinis and sports wear instead.

The Girls Aloud star, 38, opened up on the quality time with her family following the halting of production for her new musical Sleepless amid the pandemic.

Speaking to The Mirror, Kimberley told how amid the soaring temperatures in recent months, she’s hardly seen the point of getting dressed and spent most of her time in swimwear.

She told the publication: ‘I barely wore clothes! My sister laughed every time she saw me, ‘Do you ever put clothes on?’ But there wasn’t much point.

‘It was boiling hot, so I was like, ‘I’m going to get a tan!’ I lived in either bikinis or workout gear. I’d have my coffee on the balcony, do a workout, get in the shower, put on a bikini and play outside with the kids, water fights or whatever.’

However, there was a downside when it came to her low-key dressing as her lack of clothes meant that cooking was not enjoyable at all.

She continued: ‘I’d even cook in a bikini. It’s not so much fun if you get splashed by hot fat, to be honest. I realised it’s not the safest thing to do, but I liked that feeling of it being like a holiday.’

The theatre star added that as her job usually sees her getting all dressed up, she found it a ‘novelty’ to not to have to wear clothes and ‘really enjoyed it’.

Earlier this month, the mother-of-two revealed she and Nicola Roberts ‘went wild’ in close friend Cheryl’s garden as soon as lockdown restrictions eased.

In an interview with Lorraine Kelly on Good Morning Britain, the musician highlighted the importance of keeping in touch with friends and family amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Promise hitmaker explained how she was keeping in touch with her bandmates Nicola, 34, and Cheryl, 37, via Zoom, and admitted she couldn’t wait to meet up with them again for the first time in over 14 weeks once the COVID-19 guidelines slightly lifted.

Kimberley told the host: ‘It’s important to keep that connection with close friends and family.

‘It’s been lovely to see them in the flesh, it’s been so long. I saw Nicola the other day, it was lovely to see her and she’s been isolating herself bless her.’

Confessing the trio let loose once garden visits were permitted, the theatre actress said: ‘And as soon as lockdown restrictions were lifted we were straight round to Cheryl’s. We spent lots of time going wild in her garden!’

The media personality went on to share how she’s been finding UK’s new normal with husband Justin and their sons Bobby and Cole.

Kimberley detailed: ‘I’m not gonna lie, when first get news that we were going into lockdown and I would have to home-school, I was like ‘aaah!’

‘You do worry, how are we going to entertain two energetic boys for so long in the house. But the weather has been great and we’ve been able to spend a lot of time as a family outside.

‘Home schooling had been challenging but it has worked and it’s not been as hard as we thought it would be.’
