Detectives have now said they believe the young woman, from London, was travelling in the car before it caught fire.

It is understood she got out, and while trying to seek help, fell to her death from a bridge.

Tragically, she could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

A 31-year-old man from London was arrested in connection with the incident, with forensics called in to investigate and the road closed for 11 hours.

However, the man has since been released without charge as police are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances and are now preparing a report for the coroner.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: ‘Detectives investigating the circumstances around the death of a woman who fell from a bridge on the A21 are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances and are now preparing a report for the coroner.
