Mother and daughter are killed in horror crash in Snowdonia National Park after their VW Polo was hit by lorry

A mother and daughter have died following a crash involving a car and a lorry.

Shortly after 3.30pm on Wednesday, emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving a red Volkswagen Polo and a rigid flatbed yellow lorry on the A487 between Gardolbenmaen and Penmorfa.

The female driver and female passenger who were travelling in the Polo were pronounced dead at the scene, North Wales Police said.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes, of the roads policing unit, said: ‘Sadly this is being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision and our thoughts remain with the family of those who died.

‘They will now be supported by specially trained family liaison officers.’

According to North Wales Live, the victims are a mother and daughter.  

Police said the road is closed and they are urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage to come forward.
