Comedian Urzila Carlson rumoured to be replacing Lindsay Lohan on The Masked Singer Australia

New Zealand comedian Urzila Carlson has addressed rumours she will replace Lindsay Lohan on the upcoming season of The Masked Singer.

Speaking to Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny on Tuesday, the 44-year-old played coy when she was asked about her rumoured new gig.

‘I heard that, I’m sitting in Auckland right now in my PJ pants, Haven’t they already started filming that already, wouldn’t I need to be there?’ she asked.

Suddenly shy! New Zealand comedian Urzila Carlson, 44, (pictured) has finally addressed rumours she is replacing Lindsay Lohan on The Masked Singer on Tuesday

Radio host Chrissie Swan told Urzila that filming hadn’t started yet.

Urzila responded: ‘Ah, if it was true, I pity those wardrobe ladies because I don’t know if I will fit in Lindsay’s wardrobe and I’ve got nothing flash enough.’

But Nova presenter Sam Pang was convinced the rumour was true, saying: ‘You are the worst liar in the history of the world. This is an absolute certainty.’

Refusing to confirm the speculation, Urzila said: ‘Is it? You and I both know Ed Kavalee is going to be that person filling in for Lindsay and not me.’

The funnywoman then tried to divert the conversation by saying she hadn’t even heard of show until fans started speculating she was joining the cast.

It comes after Channel 10 confirmed American actress Lindsay had been forced to step down from her role as a celebrity guesser due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Season two of The Masked Singer was scheduled to begin filming later this month in Melbourne, but has been delayed because of the escalating pandemic.

Domestic travel restrictions between NSW and Victoria have disrupted filming, as several of the show’s stars, including panellist Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and host Osher Günsberg, live in Sydney

Judge Dave Hughes confirmed to Daily Mail Australia earlier this week: ‘It’s delayed as far as I know.’
