Zac Efron uploads his first Instagram post in a month but tags his location as ‘around the world’ – as he continues to evade the spotlight in Byron Bay

Zac Efron is making every effort to dodge the spotlight while laying low in Byron Bay, New South Wales.

The High School Musical star, 32, who has reportedly been living in the coastal town for months, posted to Instagram for the first time since early June on Monday – but conspicuously chose to tag his location as ‘around the world’.

Uploading a promotional image for his new Netflix docu-series Down To Earth, the Hollywood hunk simply captioned the post: ‘Love you guys [heart emoji] #downtoearth #netflix.’

Dodging the spotlight: Zac Efron, 32, returned to Instagram for the first time in a month by uploading this photo on Monday, but conspicuously chose to tag his location as ‘around the world’ rather than his actual whereabouts in Byron Bay, New South Wales

He proceeded to tag the show’s producers Michael Simkin and Brian Volk-Weiss, his co-star Darin Olien, and Jason Barrett – Zac’s manager and close friend.

Down To Earth sees Zac and Michael travel the globe to learn about the unusual techniques different communities use to maintain environmental sustainability.

Meanwhile, Zac was pictured in Byron Bay for the first time earlier this month, finally confirming rumours he had fled Down Under to escape the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S.

Zac is said to have fallen so deeply in love with the town that he’s now considering purchasing the home he has reportedly been renting.

According to The Sunday Telegraph, he has made an inquiry about buying the Byron Beach Retreats property named The Boardwalk.

The beachfront property is located in the coastal suburb Broken Head, a town close to Byron Bay where Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky also happen to live.

Zac previously said it was ‘easy’ keeping a low profile during his visits to Australia because of the sparsely-populated beaches down the coast.

‘What I love about Australia, which is what we don’t have in California, is there are so many wide-open beaches where no one is at,’ he said.

Meanwhile, rumours are flying that Zac could appear in the next season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia.

Channel 10 executives are hoping to convince the High School Musical star, 32, to sign on the dotted line, according to New Idea magazine on Monday.

The network has reportedly offered the American actor $1.5million to participate in the upcoming season, which will likely begin filming early next year.
