The Voice’s Guy Sebastian says Kelly Rowland is ‘always intimidating’

Guy Sebastian’s bitter feud with fellow coach Kelly Rowland has played out on the current season of The Voice.

And during Sunday’s episode, Guy told host Darren McMullen that he still finds Kelly ‘intimidating’, despite her appearing on screen from her home in Los Angeles.

After Stephanie Cole performed Lauren Daigle’s hit You Say, Kelly, 39, jokingly warned Guy, 38, to choose the right singers to progress to the semi-finals.

Still tension: The Voice’s Guy Sebastian (pictured), 38, said Kelly Rowland is ‘always intimidating’ on Sunday’s episode, despite her appearing on screen from Los Angeles

Host Darren cut over to Kelly to ask her thoughts on whether Stephanie ‘stamped her place’ in the competition.

‘I feel like with every breath in her body she did,’ she responded. ‘It was awesome, she is fighting for her place here.’

Kelly urged Guy to ensure Stephanie continues on in the competition, pointing her finger at him in a joking manner.

‘That performance here was necessary, and you here are necessary, so Guy, do the right thing!’

Darren then asked Guy whether Kelly is as ‘intimidating on a giant TV screen as she is when she’s here in real life’, and the coach didn’t hold back.

‘Always, always,’ he said with a laugh.

Just last Sunday, Guy and Kelly’s bitter feud continued.

'Always, always': When host Darren McMullen asked Guy whether it's just as 'intimidating' having Kelly appear via a screen, he did not hold back. Delta Goodrem is pictured second, left and Boy George via a screen from his home in London

‘She says that now!’ Last Sunday, Guy called out Kelly for encouraging Boy George to ‘break the rules’, after THAT cheating scandal

Kelly, who appeared on screen, said it was okay for Boy George to choose the exact same song for his singers during the playoffs, causing Guy to weigh in.

On the episode, Boy George chose Whitney Houston’s iconic hit I Have Nothing for both Masha Mnjoyan and Elyse Sene-Lefao to sing in the playoffs.

After the performance, Guy wasted no time in saying: ‘That’s the same song.’

‘George has had a lot of time, there’s billions of songs in the world but he could only come up with one. And I guess it was sort of like a battle, but George, it wasn’t really a playoff,’ he continued.

Kelly encouraged Boy George to break the rules: ‘The rules must be broken then. Break it.’

Guy responded in jest: ‘Oh you say that now! She says that now!’

Kelly playfully attempted to quieten Guy, saying: ‘I’m not there. Shh Guy!’

It comes after Guy found himself at the centre of a cheating scandal on an episode last month.

The mentor turned his chair for contestant Wolf Winters, who performed a dark rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s The Sound of Silence.

This decision led to a showdown between Guy and Kelly, who still had a slot available on her team, and things became so heated a producer had to step in.

The Voice continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
