That’s not new! Big Brother has used the ‘white room’ in the original run of the show – after it was revealed it will be a twist ahead of the season finale

Big Brother revealed it will introduce the ‘white room’ to its current crop of housemates ahead of the dramatic season finale.

But it appears the concept of forcing the housemates into a room designed for sensory deprivation is not new for the series.

Surprisingly, the show has actually used it before in its original run back in 2007, according to Big Brother fan forums

The white room was actually used by four ‘wildcard’ housemates where they had to stay in the small white room, wear only white clothes and eat porridge.

It wasn’t used as a way of determining the winner in the season finale, but whoever was the last to leave gained a spot in the Big Brother main house.

Fans of the show will remember that Aleisha Cowcher won the season, with openly gay housemate Zach Douglas coming runner-up.

It comes as it was revealed the ‘white room’ concept will be revisited this season with contestants forced to withstand the conditions for the $250,000 cash prize.

In a newest trailer for the final two weeks, Big Brother showed the sealed off room which is painted all white and has a buzzer in the middle.

‘Big Brother has saved his most epic twist till last,’ the show’s host Sonia Kruger said.

It is not known how the concept of the ‘white room’ will be used on this season of the show. But it has also been used on the UK and Brazilian versions of the franchise.
