Lisa Wilkinson reveals the real reason she was missing from The Sunday Project… before Daryl Braithwaite drops a clanger about his biggest hit

Lisa Wilkinson was missing from the desk on The Sunday Project this week. 

And while Q&A frontman Hamish Macdonald filled in for her in studio, the 60-year-old revealed she was actually in isolation.   

‘I’m five days into isolation,’ Lisa said. ‘I got a bit caught between NSW and Victoria, so I’m doing it from my bedroom tonight,’ she added.

The long-time anchor joked she was wearing the surgical mask as the accessory of the season while covering her face with it. 

Lisa went on to explain that when she found out singing legend Daryl Braithwaite was appearing on the show, she couldn’t miss joining in on the fun. 

‘When I found out Daryl was going to be on the show tonight, I insisted on being involved,’ Lisa added via Zoom.

However, it was the panelist Tommy Little who actually quizzed the singer with the tough questions, asking him to confirm the name of his biggest song. 

The Australian rocker was quick to confirm his chart-topper, often referred to as Horses, is actually called The Horses. 

‘Oh yeah. It’s The Horses. Not Horses,’ said Daryl, 71.

‘Victorians are very good. They yell out The Horses. NSW people, not sure,’ he joked. 

Daryl is one of Australia’s most successful artists. In 2017, he was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
