Zara Larsson reveals she has scrapped songs with Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran

Zara Larsson has SCRAPPED songs with Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande from her new album after deciding she doesn’t want to feature other artists

Zara Larsson has revealed that she is scrapping songs that she recorded with Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran which were meant to feature on her upcoming album.

The Ain’t My Fault singer, 22, decided she doesn’t want any collaborations on her upcoming album, including a song about anxiety which featured Ariana.

She told The Sun: ‘I don’t know if I’ll put it on the album, it’s not on there right now.

Zara explained that it was a ‘gang vocal’ and you couldn’t distinctly hear Ariana, as she apologised to the pop star’s fans for her decision.

Detailing what the song was about, she said: ‘It’s a really good song about not feeling your best, being anxious and wishing you were someone else sometimes.’

Revealing the decision was a wider issue of not wanting to include features on her latest track, she said:

‘Everyone is in that situation sometimes. I’ve tried out a few different features but I’m not sure if I want features on my album.’

She added that she recorded so many songs with Ed Sheeran, 29, that the universe wouldn’t be able to hear them all.

However, she went on to tease her fans by saying the tracks might be released in the future because she’ll be saving them.

Zara also admitted that she has got rid of an album’s worth of songs in recent years.

It comes as Zara’s newest song, Love Me Land, was released on Friday.

The pop star broke up with her long-term boyfriend, Brian Whittaker, 21, last year after their two-year relationship ‘ran its course’.

The pair have unfollowed each other on Instagram and the singer failed to acknowledge Brian’s 20th birthday last Wednesday, but their profiles are still littered with loved-up photos of one another.

A source told The Sun: ‘The split has been very upsetting for both Zara and Brian but the relationship had run its course. It’s been a tough few weeks.’

The publication also claims that Zara hinted at the split on Tuesday, sharing a meme which read: ‘When you get your heart broken but it’s OK because the street’s been waiting for you to be single again.’

MailOnline contacted Zara Larsson’s representatives for comment at the time.

The pair began dating in summer 2017, after tweeted a snap of him to her fans asking who he was and joked ‘how do you like your eggs cooked in the morning?’.

Brian and Zara finally made contact with one another a couple of months later and soon after the two were an item.

In an interview on the Kyle and Jackie O show she said: ‘I found [him] on Twitter, I was like ‘who is this guy he is so cute?’ the bubbly blonde said.

‘So this was two years ago and someone [sent his] Instagram and he saw the tweet and replied and said “hey it’s me.”

‘… It goes down in the dm. We started talking then saw each other and now two years later he’s my boyfriend.’
