MasterChef fans BLAST the show for featuring too many ‘boring’ desserts

MasterChef Australia fans have watched the contestants create an array of incredible dishes so far this season.

But it seems some viewers want to see the chefs make more savoury dishes for a change, as opposed to desserts.

Fans flocked to Facebook this week to vent their frustrations, including one who wrote: ‘Can we possibly have a savoury challenge? I’m so over sweets. I’m never gonna make those dishes.’

Another agreed, saying that they found the desserts ‘boring’.

They wrote: ‘There’s no doubt that Reynold is an amazing artist and perfects his desserts, but desserts bore me so much.

‘There’s only so many times an ice cream, sorbet, mousse, sable, etc can be made.’

A third frustrated fan added: ‘Definitely time to get them all to cook out of their comfort zone.’

Sounding salty: A fan commented, 'Yeah, I reckon they should have to cook savoury on Sunday about time!' While another suggested the show presents 'some good savoury heart warming food'

One viewer chimed in: ‘Yeah, I reckon they should have to cook savoury on Sunday about time!’

Meanwhile, another wrote: ‘You said it mate… bring on some good savoury heart warming food. Come on guys, it’s winter.’

But there were some fans who enjoyed watching the talented chefs make sweet treats, including one who said: ‘I get why you say this, but… if this show was entirely desserts, I would be a happy girl!’

Another fan pointed out that ‘two out of the three dishes were savoury’ on Tuesday’s episode.

Several other pointed out that there was nothing viewers could do as the season had ‘already finished filming’.

The filming of MasterChef: Back to Win is believed to have wrapped in late May.

It comes after ‘dessert king’ Reynold Poernomo impressed the judges with his Harry Potter-inspired Golden Snitch dessert on Tuesday.

As the judges tasted his dish, they were blown away by both its beauty and flavours.

‘Technically, we don’t even need to talk about it, but it is the hardest of hardest when we talk about technique in this very kitchen. He’s absolutely nailed it,’ said judge Andy Allen.

Meanwhile, Melissa Leong labelled it ‘triumphant’, and Jock Zonfrillo called it ‘absolutely inspired cooking’.

Unsurprisingly, Reynold won the immunity challenge, earning himself a guaranteed spot in the final four.
