Charlie Taylor was the first person to be kicked out of the villa on the first season of Love Island Australia in 2018.

And in a bizarre twist of fate, the reality star is now stuck in paradise and can’t leave.

The Sydneysider has been stranded in Bali, Indonesia, for the past five months due to international travel restrictions.

He had delayed an earlier flight home because he wanted to escape the virus, but later found himself stranded when he attempted to return in March.

‘I was supposed to go back home in March, but the day my flight was due to leave, it was announced Australia was going into indefinite lockdown,’ he said.

The influencer and former rugby player said the situation was ‘hard’ but he was lucky to have a girlfriend keeping him company in Bali.

‘I have been seeing someone who is currently in Bali,’ he said.

‘I’m now starting to enjoy life here with an amazing girl and couldn’t think of anywhere else to be during this situation.’

After being dumped from Love Island in 2018, Charlie told Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa that the villa’s female occupants only wanted to date ‘d**kheads’.

When asked by host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald whether he was disappointed about the lineup of women, Charlie confessed: ‘A little bit.’

He added: ‘That was the major reason why I wasn’t sort of attracted [to] or had any connection with any of the girls.’

The first season of Love Island Australia is currently being broadcast on ITV2 after the British series was suspended due to coronavirus.
