Buying wine online has become the norm for many… and with no heavy lifting, why wouldn’t you?

Recently, buying wine online has become the norm for many… and with no heavy lifting and free delivery, why wouldn’t you? You won’t regret it!

The surge of elation when wine is piped to my door feels like a geyser of liquid treasure erupting from the postman’s sack. Recently, buying wine online has become the norm for many – and with no heavy lifting, free delivery and a decent supply secured, your wine hose can cascade at full blast into the faces of your nearest and dearest.

But where to buy the best?

The Wine Society is about as good as it gets – join today if you haven’t already. Its value is unbeatable, delivery is prompt and service second to none. Among the treasures I buy from its range are Greek gems – buy as much of my wine of the week as you dare.

I also regularly order stacks of wine from Majestic. In fact, I’ve been sending my dad so much of the rosé I’m recommending this week that I’m wondering where he’s been putting it all.

Going local is another good bet. This week I bought four cases of Burning Sky beer from my local wine merchants, symposium-finewine.co.uk, and for specialist merchants I urge you to visit bat.wine

This is not a sideline of Batman moving into vino, but home of Bat & Bottle, Italian wine specialists who recently scooped the Online Specialist Wine Buyer Award at the London Wine Fair.

Stellar value for a fresh and scented star white. Buy double what you think you need and invite me over (£8.95 The Wine Society Greek White 2019 (12%) (available from July 13))

BABY LET’S PLAY MOUSE £29.75 Terrasses du Larzac Domaine de Montcalmes 2016 (14.5%) yapp.co.uk and WINE OF THE WEEK £8.95 The Wine Society Greek White 2019 (12%) (available from July 13)

Ben and Emma Robson are the dedicated, passionate and knowledgeable team behind the brand and their range is next level.

As for general indies online? Lea & Sandeman, Corney & Barrow, Adnams, Haynes Hanson & Clark are all ace. Or just join The Wine Society – if you like wine as much as I do, you’ll never regret it.
