The Voice’s Siala Robson forgets the lyrics to her song in the middle of an all-important performance… but she still makes it into the final

Despite suffering a devastating setback during her performance on Sunday, The Voice‘s Siala Robson still managed to emerge victorious during the all-important first Playoff.

The 18-year-old was midway through David Bowie‘s Fame 90 when she forgot the lyrics to the song.

After managing to recover from the blunder, coach Boy George insisted he still had faith in the young singer, and put her through to the finals.

Siala was performing opposite fellow contestant Nathan Isaac when she became visibly panicked after forgetting the words.

Stopping her performance, Siala stood on the stage with her mouth wide open, before putting a horrified hand up to her forehead.

After a few tense moments, she managed to get the performance back on track, but she was evidently upset about had happened.

At the end of her performance, a devastated Siala looked like she was on the verge on tears, despite the encouraging cheers from the show’s live audience.

And while she thought her fate was sealed with the less than stellar performance, the show’s coaches assured her it was more important that she was able to pick herself back up.

‘Siala, you are so dope. You’re so great, don’t be down. You’re like, one of my favourite things I’ve ever seen,’ coach Guy Sebastian reassured her.

Added George, 59: ‘These moments are all about working out what kind of artist you’re going to be, how brave you’re going to be… It’s over. You’ve got to learn to repair from that stuff, instantly.’

After taking a moment to deliberate over his final decision, George chose Siala over Nathan to progress into the show’s final.

He admitted that while he had ‘some fear’ about progressing the young singer through the competition, he was willing to take a leap of faith.

An emotional Siala was overjoyed at being given a second chance, telling George she was ‘so grateful’, and causing him to grow emotional, too.

Speaking to 9Now on Sunday, Siala admitted she lost concentration during the high pressure performance.

‘I couldn’t concentrate. I went out there and I started singing and I was not in the room,’ she recounted.

‘I really sink myself into what I do, what I sing and how I present it. It’s good to be emotionally invested but it really hit me, and I had just a fat wig out.’
