Something to tell us? The Bachelor’s Matty Johnson hints that he and Laura Byrne are secretly MARRIED by calling her his ‘wife’ in a new interview

The Bachelor‘s Matty Johnson and Laura Byrne announced their engagement in April last year.

And while COVID-19 forced them to delay their wedding, which they’d tentatively planned for later this year, it seems the couple may have quietly decided to tie the knot anyway.

Matty hinted that the couple had already said ‘I do’ when he referred to Laura as his ‘wife’ in a recent interview with property website Domain.

‘My wife Laura fostered [rescue dog] Buster before we met,’ he said.

‘I never had a dog of my own and he’s an adopted family member now. We hang out every day. He is a Bull Arab, six-and-a-half years old and weighs 40 kilos.’

While Matty’s comment may have just been a slip of the tongue, it has led to speculation the pair are now legally husband and wife.

It comes after the couple, who share one-year-old daughter Marlie-Mae, told TV Week they had postponed their wedding until 2021.

‘We had originally thought that we would have our wedding this year, but juggling a baby and full-time work meant that we never got around to locking in a date and venue,’ Laura said.

She added that it was lucky they were so disorganised, because they would have had to cancel their wedding plans anyway due to the coronavirus pandemic.
