Yasmin’s Getting Married star Yasmin Dale resurfaces 14 years after starring on Channel 10 flop

She entered the public eye in 2006, starring in the now-infamous reality TV flop Yasmin’s Getting Married.

And Yasmin Dale, now 43, looks very different to her days as Australia’s Bridget Jones 14 years ago. 

These days, the Sydney-based former star works in recruitment, and has still never been married. 

She is however mother to a seven-year-old daughter named Mllie.  

Yasmin’s Getting Married promised to document the brunette’s quest for love – from choosing a suitor to eventually marrying on television. 

However, the program was axed after four episodes after the ratings plunged below 600,000 people, meaning that Yasmine’s search for Mr Right was tragically cut short.   

Speaking to Sunday’s Stellar magazine, Yasmin insisted that she didn’t go on the show for fame, but rather because of the pressures of her childhood. 

‘I grew up north of Newcastle in a small coastal country town and, when you grow up in a small community, people tend to get married (sooner than in the city),’ she explained.  

‘Back then, I felt like my closest friends had done just that. I was kind of the last woman standing and that was the catalyst for doing [the TV show].’ 

Yasmin explained that she actually wasn’t the network’s first pick to star on the show. 

The singleton was actually offered the role when the initial star, a woman named Rene, pulled out at the last minute.

Yasmin said she was given just 24 hours to decide whether she wanted to do the show.  

While she hoped to find her Prince Charming, Yasmin’s fairy tale turned into a nightmare when she received a phone call from Chanel 10 telling her the show had been axed.   

‘I was surprised when they told me. And of course I took it personally – the show was about me,’ she lamented.

Yasmin went on to insist she has no regrets about the series but still hasn’t re-watched any footage.
