19 Kids And Counting alum Jessa Duggar and husband Ben Seewald are ‘considering’ adopting a fourth child

They currently share three children, daughter Ivy, one, and sons Spurgeon, four, and Henry, three.

But 19 Kids And Counting alum Jessa Duggar, 27, and her husband Ben Seewald, 25 revealed in an interview with Us Weekly on Thursday that they are ‘considering’ adopting a fourth child.

‘We could wait until all of our kids are grown and gone and then adopt, but I also think it’s kind of cool to have an adopted child growing up with the other kids,’ explained Seewald.

He added: ‘We’re just in a stage of, like, meeting with people who have adopted and getting advice, hearing their stories and seeing what that might look like for us.’

Jessa and Ben – who married in 2014 – admitted that they have been doing their research and learning about the adoption process through those most familiar with it.  

‘What avenues did you go through [for] foster care and adoption agencies? Were you adopting local [or] international?’ listed Seewald of the questions he and Jessa have been asking adoptive parents in their life.

Though she says the family is in a ‘good season,’ Jessa admitted that she still gets ‘baby fever’ every now and again.  

Jessa also claimed that she and Ben have been considering adoption from the get-go.

‘We’re not sure if our next baby will be adopted or not, but that’s something that has weighed heavily on our hearts since before we were married.’

Last May the couple welcomed their youngest child, daughter Ivy, who they described as being ‘very adventurous’ and the type of baby that ‘pretty much tries anything that [they are] eating.’

Jessa is one of 19 siblings and although her and Ben entertain the idea of having a ‘full house,’ the pair are not looking to following in Jessa’s parents’, Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar, footsteps. 

‘I guess we’re kind of taking it one at a time and we’re thankful for each one,’ she said.

Jessa briefly reflected on her unique upbringing and explained that having so many siblings was like always having ‘her best friends around.’ 

‘If one sibling wasn’t getting along with you at that moment, you could find somebody else to play with,’ said the reality star.
