Phil then said: ‘We managed to stay on all this time, it would be a shame if we cut out now. Who would have thought a public toilet would take us off air?’

The screen went black several times before the problem was fixed and Holly and Phillip could carry on with the rest of the show.

There was no explanation given as to why the blackout occurred.

Later in the show, Holly and Phillip grimaced in horror as they were forced to drink fermented milk that helps to keep your gut healthy.

The pair chatted to Liz Earle who showed them how to make kefir milk but the sour taste proved to be too much for them.

Neither Holly nor Phillip were looking forward to trying the drink with Holly tentatively stirring hers and admitting: ‘I was hoping we’d have to go to break before this.’

Drinking through a straw, Phillip pulled a face of disgust as Holly exclaimed: ‘It’s sour! I’ve just ruined a perfectly good cup of tea with that.’

The drink is made adding kefir grains to milk and then storing in a ‘warm kitchen’, which contributes to the odour.

Describing then benefits of the drink, Liz said: ‘If you imagine yogurt wearing superman underpants, that’s what kefir milk is.’
