Ten reveals the new look Living Room that sees all four hosts working together to help families

‘We’ve been given a fresh coat of paint!’ The Living Room WILL return with entirely new format – after rumours the show was set to be axed

Despite reports The Living Room had been axed, Channel Ten have launched the beloved series with a whole new format.

The popular lifestyle program will see Amanda Keller, Dr. Chris Brown, Miguel Maestre and Barry DuBois return on July 3.

Instead of filming individual segments which aired to a studio audience, the new format features all four hosts working together to help an Aussie family.

‘Its like we’ve been given a fresh coat of paint. We’re in a new house [studio], so it feels real and it feels fluid. It’s just a really invigorated us, so we’re excited about it,’ Amanda told The Daily Telegraph’s TV Guide.

She continued: ‘We will still have the stupidity and we’ll still have the laughter, but I’d like to think we’re one of those shows where you can do the gear change.

‘Often I find myself on the brink of tears and then the next minute, there’s a snort of laughter. I think that’s how life is though, we can laugh through the tears and drink through them as well. ‘

The new series will take place on an energised new set, and involves the cast visiting the home of an Australian family each week to ‘improve their lives with a little TLC’.

In December 2019, the future of the show was in doubt after Ten announced it would not be returning in 2020.

Network sources previously suggested the hosts would be hosting a similar show under another name, but that it will be produced in-house at Channel Ten rather than by the former Living Room producers WTFN.

Amanda also told her WSFM listeners that the network was giving the show a new name.
