‘She’s ready to take that baton’: Karl Stefanovic cheekily claims his new Today co-host Allison Langdon will repeat his infamously tipsy 2009 Logies broadcast
Karl Stefanovic famously fronted Nine’s Today Show a little worse for wear following a very big night at the TV Week Logie Awards in 2009.
The TV host joked on in Saturday’s issue of Stellar Magazine that he may be due for a repeat performance – and he hopes his new co-host, Allison Langdon, is up to the challenge.
‘Now that Ali Langdon is on board, she’s ready to take that baton,’ Karl, 45, told the publication.

He added that latest Today recruit Allison, 41, is keen to have a go at taking his crown.
‘She’s talking a real good game; if she can talk the talk hopefully she can walk the walk,’ he joked.

The Channel Nine star was seen giggling on-air while broadcasting from Melbourne’s Crown Entertainment Complex, clearly feeling the effects from the alcoholic beverages he had consumed the night before.
In 2010 Karl admitted that in a bid to avoid a repeat of his wild night out, he had been ordered to work as a red carpet reporter on Logie night, to keep him away from the free-flowing champagne.

Discussing his infamous post-Logies appearance with Brown Cardigan earlier this year, Karl explained that he made a poor decision that morning.
‘It was 4am and we started [the show] at 5am. One of my best friends said, “We have a very big decision to make tonight, we keep going or we go to sleep?”
‘I said, “We should go to bed’. I went to bed and it was a big mistake!”‘ Karl said jokingly.
