The Voice’s Jesse Teinaki hints he’s fallen in love for the first time with Elsa Clement

The Voice‘s Jesse Teinaki has discussed his year-long romance with his fellow Season 8 co-star, Elsa Clement, for the first time. 

The singer, 27, has credited the stunning 21-year-old for helping with his confidence since his stint on the show last year, and gushed that she had given him a ‘new perspective’ on life.

Alluding that he’s in love for the first time with Elsa, Jesse added: ‘At 27, you think you’ve got a grasp on it [love], but It takes that special [person] to learn the truth about the depth of love.’  

Speaking to 9Now, Jesse explained: ‘I got asked in an interview about what I’ve done for love, and it’s been amazing to say that over the last year, I’ve been learning what love is.’

Explaining just how smitten he is, he continued: ‘When you’ve got two people that are so connected with each other and share their craft too, you just get to see these different aspects and ways to approach things. You get a new perspective.’

Jesse also explained that they often ‘play music together’ and a lot of his ‘progression and artistry’ has been inspired by Elsa. 

In May, Daily Mail Australia revealed that Jesse’s secret girlfriend for the year was Elsa.    

Fans of Channel Nine’s The Voice will remember she also participated on the reality show last year as part of Kelly Rowland, and later, Guy Sebastian’s team.

 In a post shared on her Instagram, the raven-haired stunner added the caption: ‘Thank you for being my person. For being in my corner, being the light of my life and showing me that I am yours too.’

‘At the end of the day, life is about being happy and being who you are. You make me the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m so grateful to call you mine,’ she said, even revealing his nickname, ‘Big Smoosh’.

Elsa made it through to the top 16 last year, while Jesse got the boot during the battle rounds as part of Delta Goodrem’s team. 

Jesse once again impressed the judges having returned to the show this year, and is currently gearing up to compete in the battle rounds.
