Miss live music? The Veronicas set to headline at a major Sydney concert in July… and it’s completely COVID-safe

The Veronicas are set to headline at a Sydney concert on July 17.

The live performance is the first in a series of 640 stellar COVID-safe events to be held at drive-in theatres across the country in coming months.

Twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliassos, 35, will be the first act to the stage at Sydney’s Raging Waters drive-in, near Blacktown.

In a press release for the event, Jessica admitted she can’t wait to perform live again and thinks the atmosphere will rival any festival.

‘Festivals create a unity of energy that is unlike any other feeling. We are thinking outside the box to make sure we can all still give an experience of live music to our fans during these times,’ she said.

‘A drive-in concert sounded like our perfect night. Get your friends together, great snacks, blankets, comfy seats and great weather is a guarantee,’ she added.

‘This is the first time we’re ever done anything like this. Who knows what will happen. We’re expecting a symphony of car horns during Untouched.’

Prices vary from $209 to $359 per vehicle, which can carry up to five people.

Drive-In Entertainment Australia has advised the events will remain completely contact-free- with tickets only available online prior to the night.

Patrons will enjoy the concerts from ‘the safety’ of their own cars, with audio being transmitted by an FM radio signal and live-streamed via Zoom.

The Veronica’s will be closely followed by Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan who will take to the stage on July 18.

Four-time ARIA award winner Kate Ceberano is set to appear on the 23rd and 24th of July.
