Sheridan Smith cradles her baby son in adorable photo as she celebrates turning 39

She welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with her fiancé Jamie Horn in May.

And Sheridan Smith proved she has settled into motherhood well as she shared a heartwarming photo cradling her son on Instagram.

The actress, who celebrated her 39th birthday on Thursday, looked on cloud nine in the snap as her son was nestled against her shoulder as she closed her eyes. 

Looking fresh-faced in the photo, Sheridan wore a grey top along with a pair of gold hoop earrings.

Alongside the post, she wrote: ‘Best birthday present I could’ve asked for!’

The singer was inundated with well wishes from her celebrity pals including Denise Van Outen and Michelle Visage who wished her a happy birthday.  

Sheridan announced the news of her son’s in a social media post in May and gushed she’s ‘overwhelmed with love’ for the new arrival.

The star shared a first glimpse of the tot’s tiny hand as she told fans: ‘Our little man has arrived! We are both completely overwhelmed with love.’

Sheridan first confirmed that she and Jamie were expecting in November, when she shared a snap of a baby blanket embroidered with the name: ‘Baby Smith-Horn.’

A month earlier she also took to Twitter where she posted about preparing for her ‘most important role to date’.

She wrote: ‘Super excited for 2020, gonna finally get to work with a producer I admire hugely! But first, my most important role to date..’ along with emojis of a pregnant woman and a woman cradling a newborn baby. 

Speculation first began at the Floating Festivals event in October, where she was said to have announced she had a ‘baby on board.’

As reported by The Mirror, Sheridan announced: ‘I’ve got a baby on board’, before joking about ‘this morning sickness lark’.

She added: ‘I’ve got buckets in each wing and trainers so I can run. I’m very out of breath. I’ve got all these new symptoms, so sorry!’

Sheridan sent fans into a frenzy by revealing she was suffering from ‘morning sickness’ on a social media post as she prepared to embark on a musical theatre cruise, prompting a rush of fan congratulations. 

Alongside a picture of her VIP passes, Sheridan wrote: ‘About to set sail for 4 days, wish me luck with my morning sickness’.

Taking the news as confirmation she might be pregnant, her followers were quick to extend their well wishes and congratulate her.

Earlier this year, Sheridan revealed she and Jamie had packed their things and were moving into a new house as she shared a snap of their cars being loaded into a moving van.

Sheridan expressed her excitement alongside the photo, writing: ‘Last part of the house move is the motors. Finally we are off! #newadventures’.

The theatre star has remained tight-lipped on where she and her beau decided to settle.
