Fans of The Handmaid’s Tale will have to wait until next year to catch up on all things Gilead.
But Hulu gave a sneak peak at the upcoming fourth season dropping an official teaser on Wednesday.

‘I can’t rest,’ Moss says the clip opens with scenes of June with her daughter Hannah before Gilead, and then her present day laying shot in the snow. ‘My daughter deserves better. We all deserve better. Change never comes easy, this war isn’t going to win itself.’
‘All those children, it’s June’s legacy,’ Bradley Whitford as Commander Joseph Lawerence says after helping June free dozens of young girls from Gilead. ‘She does have strong claws.’
Season three ended with June and marthas (house servants) freeing dozens of young girls in Gilead and flying them to the U.S. Government exiled in Canada.
Teaser picks up from the events at the end of season three, with June back in Gilead after freeing the girls, and being shot by guards as she sacrificed herself for their freedom.

Her team of handmaids and marthas, who were initially united in fighting for freedom seem to be at odds.
‘It’s not safe anywhere, we should all just leave,’ one martha says.
But June is steadfast saying ‘These women deserve to be helped, but I can’t do this alone.’
Since June’s oldest daughter Hannah, born before the takeover by Gilead, was not one of the girls who was freed, she stayed behind to further the fight for freedom as she refused to leave without her daughter.

And now it seems Gilead is on to June’s plans to destroy the oppressive nation.
‘She is out there planning who knows what kind of atrocities to visit upon our righteous nation,’ Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia says. ‘I never allowed myself to see her for what she clearly is, beyond redemption.’
Season four looks to be a defining season for June and the women of Gilead.
‘What happens in the next few weeks will determine the future of this country,’ Whitford says.
The clips ends after showing June pulling a gun, from season three, joining with marthas and enduring the oppression of Gilead.

The season four premiere date of her hit The Handmaid’s Tale has been officially set for sometime in 2021 which Hulu announced during its digital newfront on Monday, according to The Wrap.
The Handmaid’s Tale, which is based on the 1985 Margaret Atwood novel, had just begun filming in Canada when the coronavirus pandemic hit and production was forced to shut down.
Due to the delay in filming the new season, the premiere date is now pushed several months – though the exact date it still undecided.

A source close to production told The Wrap that Hulu will reveal a ‘narrower premiere window’ when producers get a date for filming on the dystopian drama to resume.
Originally, season four was slated for release in the fall of 2020 and, with this new premiere window, there will be a huge gap in time for fans who’ve been waiting since season three wrapped up in August 2019.
Moss stars in the series as Offred, a ‘handmaid’ – women enslaved by the upper class in the country of Gilead (formerly the United States) for the purpose of being forced to bear children for the family due to severely declining birthrates.
The Handmaid’s Tale also stars Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Joseph Fiennes and Madeline Brewer.
