And when 2002’s third season was serialised on Monday evening, the show’s winner Kate Lawler was left raging at her former co-stars Alex Sibley and Sandy Cumming for their reaction to Alison Hammond’s eviction.

Kate, 40, and Alison, 45, found fame on the show and have gone on to both enjoy successful broadcasting career, something the former pointed out when she insisted that the latter ‘had the last laugh’ and is ‘an absolute queen’.

Hit: Alison Hammond’s Big Brother eviction was aired on Monday evening leading to criticism from the show’s eventual winner Kate Lawler

Alison was the second star to be kicked off the show and her eviction was re-aired on Monday evening – much to Kate’s chagrin.

During the episode, Alison was seen getting emotional as she was informed of her fate, after facing the public vote alongside Alex and Sandy.

Big Brother’s third series featured a number of housemates who went on to become familiar faces, including the late Jade Goody, Adele Roberts, and Kate , who would eventually go on to be crowned the winner.

Aiming her comments at her former co-stars, Kate wrote: ‘How smug were Alex and Sandy when Alison was announced? What was he on about? ‘The truth?’ I reckon these days Sandy probably believes that 5G causes Covid.’

When a fan echoed the sentiment, writing: ‘Alison had the last laugh! Absolute queen x’, to which Kate responded: ‘Exactly’.

She hit out at Sandy again when she stated he had ‘such bad energy’: ‘How can you NOT have liked Jonny? I’m so glad Sandy jumped over the wall and left the house. Such negative energy. He’s defo watching this with a tin foil hat on. #BBUK’.

Many Big Brother fans echoed the sentiment of shock that Alison left the house so early – with many insisting it is an injustice given her success.

Fans penned: ‘I need to find everyone responsible for Alison Hammond’s early eviction and ruin their life #bbuk…

‘True, but she got the last laugh from the likes of that miserable Sandy, look how far and how well she has come since that eviction, her beautiful & funny personality stood out & she got the reward she deserved…

‘I remember being DEVASTATED when Alison was evicted Loudly crying face I believe it was the closest eviction in #BBUK history at the time. She was robbed!…

‘Given that Alison Hammond has been on our screens loads since being on #bbuk, it’s surprising now that she only lasted until the second eviction. Crikey.’
