Big Brother star Grace Adams-Short has admitted she would be ‘horrified’ if her children set their sights on a Love Island role.

The reality star, 34, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday alongside her husband Mikey Dalton, 37, who she met on the show in 2006, and their three children when she made the explosive statement.

E4 have been showing classic episodes of Big Brother to commemorate the now-defunct show’s 20th anniversary, and last week it was a classic installment from Big Brother 7, which starred Grace and Mikey – propelling them back in the spotlight.

Grace, 34, and Mikey, 37, were in their early 20s when they appeared on Big Brother, an experience the entrepreneur branded as a ‘holiday romance’.

They tied the knot in October 2009 and welcomed their first child Georgina in 2012, followed by son Spencer in 2015 and daughter Allegra in 2018.

She made it clear that she would not want her kids to follow in her reality footsteps despite making her millions off the back of her TV turn.

The duo stepped away from TV, with the former dance teacher setting up performing schools across the nation, while Liverpudlian Mikey owns an advertising company.

Grace, who was able to purchase properties in London and Liverpool following her Big Brother appearance, recently sold her company for millions.

Aside from Love Island, Mikey said of their union: ‘When I saw Grace I knew it would be a great summer…

‘But at age 23 you don’t imagine you’re going to meet your wife in Big Brother. But it turned into a great summer.’

She went on: ‘We have always done what’s right for us. When we came out we were living in each other’s pockets.’

When asked if their kids know about their unusual meeting, Mikey said: ‘Georgina knows – she is eight – she’s watched a few clips. We didn’t watch it back ourselves. We did watch it the other day though, which was fun to watch.’

On how to cope with reality TV, Mikey said: ‘Reality TV is an experience, not a job role. Ground yourself and your mental health will be fine’.

Last week Grace referenced the backlash she received at the time over her behaviour in the house, as she wrote on Instagram: ‘Yes I was opinionated and had far too much to say (I don’t think this has really changed if you ask Mikey).’

‘3 kids later we are so close and happy and truly grateful for what we have. I hope the re runs of the show has given everyone some light relief and good old fashioned reality tv during lockdown.’
