The Voice fans accuse judge Guy Sebastian of favouritism over ‘unfair’ song choices

The Voice fans accuse judge Guy Sebastian of having a ‘personal agenda’ and making ‘rigged’ song choices for his contestants

Guy Sebastian has been accused of having a ‘weird personal agenda’ and making unfair song choices after Monday’s episode of The Voice

Fans took to Twitter to question Guy’s decisions after he picked Johnny Manuel over Bukhu Ganburged after what many saw as an unfair song choice.

The pair performed Earth Song, made famous by Michael Jackson, which wasn’t ideal for Mongolian throat-singer Bukhu.

On Monday, Wolf Winters faced off with Xy Latu and Natalie Gauci, with the trio singing the Lil Nas X hit Old Town Road.

Wolf had been controversially chosen by Guy when he had no places left on his team, leading to the only three person battle in the competition – and it was Wolf who Guy eventually picked from the three contestant’s in Monday’s battle.

Fans felt both sets of decisions were unfair, with Guy making his own rules to the detriment of the contestants – with some fans even calling the competition ‘rigged’.

One angry person Tweeted: ‘So GUY ALREADY KNEW WHO HE WAS GOING WITH & JUST THREW BUKHU UNDER THE BUS!?!? ‘The show is more suited for someone like Johnny,’ ‘It shouldn’t be a surprise’. UMM WHAT?!? What a clown!!’

Another wrote:  ‘The thing about this is, Guy had to pick Johnny there, because there was no Bukhu in that performance. He couldn’t realistically pick him without it looking like he bowed under pressure. Bukhu didn’t stand a chance there.’

Someone else added: ‘Guy needs to admit that he never intended on picking Bukhu because he was too LAZY to go that extra mile in the consequential weeks to understand and fully showcase Bukhus unique talents.’

Referring to Wolf, another fan complained: ‘Because Guy broke the rules and chose an extra, these other two singers are at a disadvantage.’

Another added: ‘Lol there’s no way Wolf is better than the two what a joke. Hopefully next year new judge to replace Guy’.

A viewer watching chimed in: ‘Guy’s weird personal agenda this year is showing. Got a chip on his shoulder from last year but picking the wrong ones.

‘Wolf was not great in that battle. He didn’t even tell him at the audition that his being accepted would mean he’d had to throw away two others. Sad’.
