Serena Williams shows off ‘Inspire’ necklace on tennis court

She has the most Grand Slam singles titles in Open era, with 23 titles. 

And Serena Williams is getting back to work on the tennis court as she hunts for her 24th, which would tie her for most all time titles, once the game starts again after the coronavirus pandemic. 

The 38-year-old tennis champ showed off her ‘Inspire’ necklace as she shared a video to Instagram on Monday while heading out to practice.

Serena was ready to play in a salmon colored Nike v-neck top and black visor. 

Her brunette and golden blonde hair was pulled back into a ponytail and was styled in braids and tight curls.  

Before heading out to play she showed fans the gold ‘Inspire’ necklace hanging around her neck. 

Grabbing her tennis racket while recording, the California native showed fans she was out on the green and blue tennis court in the Florida sunshine.

She has been self-quarantining at her Florida with her husband Alexis Ohanian and their two-year-old daughter, Olympia. 

Williams and her husband, who’s the co-founder of Reddit, first met in Rome in 2015 while staying at the same hotel.

By December 2016, Ohanian and brought his ladylove back to the place where they first met to propose and a month later, the couple discovered they were pregnant. 

They eventually tied-the-knot in November 2017 and welcomed Olympia that September.

She announced she was pregnant at 20 weeks in April 2017 and revealed she was eight weeks pregnant when she won the Australian Open that January. 

In 2018, Serena returned to Tennis after her pregnancy hiatus, since she has made it to four Major finals but yet to win a Major title. 

Her coach Patrick Mouratoglou shared with JR SportBrief that she in the hunt for her 24th title and is putting in work while training in the US to make a strong return.  

‘I’ve been so impressed because you have no idea about how much effort she put there. She really wants to get that record,’ he said. ‘It’s on the line. She feels she can do it.’

Throughout her career, she has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, the most in the Open era, which puts her behind Margaret Court for all time most singles titles. 

She currently ranks ninth in the world, though she previously spent a total of 319 weeks ranked number one, first reaching the top ranking in 2002. 

With 14 women’s double titles and two mixed doubles titles she currently holds the most singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles of any active player.

Serena has been periodically sharing photos for fans from her family sequester time on social media. 

Last month she joked that she and her daughter represent ‘two different types of people’ in the caption of a photo taken during her a yoga session.
